Welcome to the Website of Tom Sprafke - Concert Photographer

Sprafke got into music photography in the early 70’s in what he calls the “Renaissance Days of Rock”. Crafting his skills on bands like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Clapton and Queen. Over the course of his career, he has personally witnessed the evolution of rock and roll from the Beatles in the mid-60s’, through the Led Zeppelin era, Prince, U2, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Nirvana, STP, and so on.

He has witnessed and captured the evolution of modern music from the British Invasion, Heavy Metal, Alternative, Indie, Punk, Pop, Grunge, Rap, EDM and Country, and has extensively captured each genre in his viewfinder.

To Sprafke, “a good photograph is one that invites a second look, and then a third”. “A good photo will intrigue the viewer look and examine the image in greater detail, which in turn engenders an emotion”

Away from the world of music, Sprafke has extensively shot action sports, namely professional Golf, Tennis, and Surfing across the globe.

His personal favorites are landscape and animal photography.

“I had started out shooting anything I could with my with a state of the art film camera, the Minolta SR-T 101”. “Over the course of my career, I have shot exclusively with one camera manufacture, the Minolta/Sony, and currently shoots with a variety of Sony Alpha’s”.

Who for more than four decades has been a premier provider of rock concert photography.
